To me, I am now using this program: Pavtube DVD to iPod Converter.
It is used to convert DVD to MP4, DVD to H.264, MP3, WAV, M4A, and AAC; perfectly help you convert DVD to iPod classic, iPod nano, iPod shuffle, iPod touch, iPod mini, iPod U2, etc.

I have used E.M. Free DVD copy recently, I ripped the DVD to ipod easily, the video quality is excellent, and it can lets me rip dvd to other popular formats. such as h264, Xvid, MOV, VOB, Mpeg, Mpeg4, Mpeg TS, AVI, WMV. so, I can play the video on most portable player. you can also copy dvd to hard drive or burn the DVD to another blank dvd disc.
