You can solve all your problems with a card reader. They’re available where ever cameras are sold for little $$. Windows will see a reader as a drive so you just copy / paste your files to your hard drive.
For a viewer I recommend Fast Stone – free download. It’s an excellent viewer with some editing thrown in.
Just Google Fast Stone and you’ll find it.

If you have a card reader with your computer then all you have to do is remove the card from the camera and put it in your computers card reader. The pictures can then be downloaded on to the computer, I would suggest you open a new file in your pictures main file then when you have the thumbnails on the computer copy and and paste them in to the newly created file in your main pictures file.

With any digital camera, a USB or Firewire card reader is strongly recommended. The camera itself tends to be very slow about transfering images to your computer. I like SanDisk and Lexar readers.
As for what software you’ll need, Google’s Picasa software makes a decent viewer/organizer and editor. And best of all, it’s FREE! Canon’s own software is called Digital Photo Professional. DPP is actually a very good editor considering the fact that it’s included with the camera. At one point, you actually could download the DPP application directly from Canon’s website but, it appears they have eliminated that option. As an alternative, you can also try ordering a CD for your camera from Canon directly (http://www.canon.com).
If you would rather just buy an application, Adobe Photoshop Elements, which includes Adobe Camera Raw (file converter) and Adobe Bridge (viewer/organizer) is a very good editor that has the core editing capabilities that most people might use in the far more expensive Adobe Photoshop CS4 application. Photoshop Elements costs about $100. The only thing better is the full Photoshop application that costs $700.

Right two ways of dealing with this:
1) Get a CF card reader, this will be much faster than the USB of the 300D.
2) This page has all the drivers and original software except photoshop elements http://software.canon-europe.com/product… You will need the Twain and WIA drivers and if you’ve shot in RAW Canon Digital Photo Pro (DPP)
Finally the 300D is basically a crippled 10D in plastic. There are hacks to unlock some of the features of the 10D though updating the firmware. Many 300D’s have this firmware version, including mine. If yours doesn’t have it, it would be a good idea to get it, also you need to be careful not to brick your camera when updating it.

Download your drivers directly from Canon:http://software.canon-europe.com/
choose model, enter operating system and look after USB drivers or something similar. This will make your life a lot easier and sosts you nothing. Another option is to use a card-reader (see first answer)).
